Getting Here

There are plenty of ways to reach the Point Lonsdale Guest House. This section gives an overview of all of these.

By Car – Melways reference 235 G10
Point Lonsdale is a 90 minute drive from Melbourne and 20 minutes from Geelong. You’ll need to head west out of Melbourne over the Westgate Bridge and along the Princes Freeway to Geelong. From Geelong, simply follow the green signs towards Queenscliff.

If you’re traveling from other directions, there’s a great network of highways linking regional centres to Geelong and various other points along the Great Ocean Road. The western gateway to the region is at Nelson, near the South Australian border. Excellent roads connect with the South Australian capital of Adelaide, 490km away.

By Bus
You could also reach Point Lonsdale by bus from Geelong. Just find McHarry’s Busline, a private service, which travels the Bellarine Peninsula from Geelong via Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove and Queenscliff.

By Train
It’s easy to catch a train out of Melbourne. Head down to Spencer Street Station and you’ll see there are trains to Geelong at least every hour. There isn’t a rail connection to Point Lonsdale but you can just hop on a bus from Geelong Station.

By Ferry
To get across from the other side of the bay, there are ferries every hour between 7am and 7pm from the Mornington Peninsula to the Bellarine Peninsula operating out of Sorrento and Queenscliff on respective sides of the bay.

Why not take your car on board so when you reach the port at Queenscliff, you can drive the short journey straight to the Point Lonsdale Guest House.

By Air
If you’re flying in, the closest airport is Melbourne’s international airport at Tullamarine.

You can hop on an airport shuttle bus service to Geelong, connecting with the bus to Point Lonsdale or you’ll find all major car rental companies with offices at the airport.
