The Point Lonsdale Guest House is your holiday 'home away from home', where we take care of the annoying and expensive bits so you can truly relax and enjoy your break.
Each of our 22 guest rooms has its own ensuite bathroom*, television, bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and heating/cooling devices. Free WiFi, bed linen and towels, and substantial off-street parking are also included.
* except the Terminus Room where the (private, lockable) bathroom is across the hall
Guest house or motel?
The original guest house (circa 1884) at the front of the property was extended in 1981 with the addition of a motel at the rear. Although different in age and style, internal hallways connect the old and new to create one substantial building.
There are 9 charming, older-style rooms in the guest house and another 13 more contemporary, maritime-inspired rooms in the motel.
Check in and out
Room cleaning
Towels (including pool towels) and essential supplies are available for you to help yourself throughout your stay. Guests staying more than 5 nights will receive a mid-stay room clean (including fresh sheets) free of charge. We will be in touch during your stay to arrange this.
Pets
On a trial basis, 2 rooms in the guest house - Queen Rooms 18 and 19 - are now pet friendly! Additional charges and strict rules (to ensure other guests are not impacted) apply. Small or medium size only. Maximum 2 per room. As a courtesy to other guests, pets are not permitted in communal areas. Due to widespread non-compliance with rules in previous years, there are strictly no pets allowed on the property between Boxing Day and Australia Day.
Noise
After 10pm is quiet time at the guest house (including in the restaurant) - to ensure a good night's sleep for all!
Breakfast
We provide free self-serve continental breakfast provisions in our guest kitchen during winter (1 June to 31 August inclusive). Otherwise, there are 4 cafes within walking distance that all do breakfast: Pico, Grow, Plated and Pasquini's.
Overlooking the courtyard and finished with timber panelling to resemble a ship's cabin, our Queen Rooms feature queen bed, ensuite, balcony, TV, bar fridge, heater, fan and tea/coffee facilities.

Located in the motel, Family Suites comprise two bedrooms separated by an ensuite. Each room in the suite has a TV, fan, heater and balcony access while the main room also has a bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
Formerly known as the Captain's Cabin, and located upstairs in the motel, our spacious flagship room boasts sea cabin timber-panelling complete with authentic portholes and a panoramic view of the famous lighthouse from the private balcony. Other features include king bed, 2 single beds, big-screen TV, kitchenette, lounge area, dining table, outdoor furniture, heaters and ensuite.
This 2 bedroom ground floor suite offers a TV, heater and fan in each room, 'original' ensuite, bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities in the main bedroom, and dining table and comfy 2-seater couch in the second bedroom.
