The Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast are world famous for surfing. Every Easter, Bells Beach hosts the Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro a surfing contest which draws the elite of the sport to Victoria. Countless other beaches along the coast (Ocean Grove, Jan Juc, etc) are highly rated for good waves all year round.

Nearby Torquay is home to Surfworld Australia the world's largest surfing museum.
